Investing in the Next Generation
We’re proud to help young people turn their interests and talents into opportunities. This year, Collegiate Peaks Bank, together with the HOYA Foundation, is supporting that goal through the 2026 Collegiate Peaks/HOYA Foundation Scholarship and Transportation & Construction GIRL.
This year’s scholarship recipient, Thalia Garman, discovered Transportation & Construction GIRL while she was in high school and looking for direction. The program introduced her to opportunities in transportation and construction and helped turn her interest in math and science into a passion for engineering. Since then, she has gained hands-on experience through internships with Encore Electric and IronStride Solutions, including work with electrical systems and intelligent transportation systems along I-25.
Today, Thalia is pursuing a degree at the Colorado School of Mines with a focus on electrical engineering, particularly transportation and power systems. She’s also committed to encouraging other young women to explore careers they may not have considered before. We’re proud to support Thalia as she takes the next step—and to invest in programs that help Colorado’s next generation discover what’s possible.
